Congregation Nvai Zedek was the first to acquire a section and is still listed as the owner, although the congregation disbanded. The section was eventually taken over by Warrensville Center Synagogue (1959) and is now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.
1928
1929
Beth Hamedrosh Kol Israel purchased a section. They eventually merged with Warrensville Center Road Synagogue and are now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.
1930
Sharrey Israel Mt. Pleasant acquired a section. It is still registered to them, even though they became a part of Ohel Jacob V’Yavneh Congregation, later to be known as Shaker Lee Synagogue. The sublot was eventually taken over by Warrensville Center Synagogue (1959) and is now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.
1931
Tifereth Israel Anshe Sfard of Mt. Pleasant (not the same as The Temple-Tifereth Israel located in Beachwood) acquired a section. They became a part of Ohel Jacob V’Yavneh Congregation, later to be known as Shaker Lee Synagogue. The sub-lot was eventually taken over by Warrensville Center Synagogue (1959) and is now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.

Shomrei Hadath Jewish Congregation purchased a section.
1935
1936
Ohel Jabneh Congregation acquired a section. It is still registered to them, even though the sub-lot was taken over first by Titierver Ahavas Achim Anshe Sfard B’nai Zedek Congregation and eventually became Warrensville Center Synagogue (1959) and is now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.
1937
Brisker & Grodner Benevolent Society purchased a section (26). It’s incorporation status remains on hold.
1938
Cleveland Vilner Jewish Progressive Society formed in 1925 purchased a section. The Society was disbanded in 1970 by the state of Ohio and the graves are now the responsibility of Mount Olive Cemetery Association (1977).
1950’s-1980’s
Additional land was needed for burials. The front (southern) portion of the property, which contained a large gully, was developed in phases creating new sections: 12,50,51,52, 400 & 500.
1953
Chebra Agudath Achim Congregation merged into Taylor Road Synagogue. Taylor Road Synagogue remains a partner with Forest City Benevolent Society in the management of Mount Olive Cemetery.
1957
Late 1950's
- Affiliate Membership Agreements were finalized. Synagogues and benevolent organizations were formally allowed to purchase burial rights within a predefined section while the deed to the total 29.5 acres would be held by the cemetery association.
- The agreement defined rules and obligations, religious guidelines, monument specifications, and the responsibilities of Mount Olive Cemetery Association.
- The first two affiliates under this new agreement were the Jewish War Veterans and the Memorial Association.

A small mausoleum was built in sections 202-204 by Miller-Deutsch Funeral Home and then removed due to religious objections.

A section was developed for Sinai Synagogue now known as Cedar-Sinai Synagogue.
1983

Section 109 was established for Congregation Bethaynu.
1985
1987
A stand-alone garage was built just north of the cemetery office.
1994
- Mount Olive sections were established to provide the Cemetery additional burial plots for those who were not members of congregations or organizations with burial rights.
- A holocaust memorial (section 110) was established for survivors and their families. Section 110 is anchored with a monument designed and built by Classic Memorials.
- Park Synagogue purchases burial rights from Mount Olive Cemetery Association (section 600C &D).

Additional sections were developed for Jewish War Veterans. (111)

Due to continued growth of the cemetery the garage was doubled in size.
